Call for Workshops and Tutorials
As in previous AIME conferences, proposals for the organization of satellite workshops and tutorials regarding any of the topic areas of the AIME 2025 conference are invited.
Submission
Each proposal should include the following elements:
- Title
- Chair(s): Include the name, affiliation, email address, homepage, and a short biography (one paragraph) for each chair, highlighting their expertise and relevance to the workshop/tutorial
- Abstract: Provide a concise summary (maximum 200 words) outlining the purpose and objectives of the workshop/tutorial
- Topics: List the key topics of interest to be covered, keeping the description within half a page
- Motivation: Explain why the topic is timely and particularly relevant to AIME participants. This section should be one to three paragraphs
- Previous Workshops or Tutorials (if applicable): If this is part of a series, describe its development over the past 3-5 years, including quantitative details on submissions and attendance
- Format: Provide either a tabular schedule or a one-paragraph summary detailing the intended mix of events, such as paper presentations, invited talks, panels, demos, or general discussions. Also report what kind of submission you require from active workshop participants
- Intended Length: Indicate whether the workshop/tutorial will be half-day or full-day
- Audience: Specify the target audience and estimate the number of attendees
- Program Committee: Include the names and affiliations of potential Program Committee members
- Requirements: List any audio-visual, technical, or special room requirements (e.g., computer lab)
For workshops, we strongly recommend appointing more than one chair, ideally from different institutions, to provide diverse perspectives on the event’s topics. We will prioritize workshops with an innovative structure and a varied program that encourages a broad range of contributions and fosters rich interactions. Tutorials should focus on recent research and scientific methods in cutting-edge or emerging fields.
Workshop/Tutorial proposals (a PDF document) should be sent to the conference program chair, Blaž Zupan (blaz.zupan@fri.uni-lj.si), and chairs of the organizing committee Riccardo Bellazzi (riccardo.bellazzi@unipv.it) and Lucia Sacchi (lucia.sacchi@unipv.it).
Event Organization and Responsibilities
Organizers of accepted events will be required to create a website that includes their call for papers and contributions, as well as detailed information about the event’s organization and timelines. A link to this website will be available on the AIME 2025 conference website. While the local organizing committee will assist with the on-site logistics, the event organizers will be responsible for managing their own review process, promoting their event, and preparing electronic proceedings (PDF). At least one chair of an accepted event must attend the main AIME 2025 conference in person.
The chairs of each accepted event will receive one free registration.
All submissions will undergo a common review process with 2-3 reviewers per proposal. We will assess the relevance to the AIME 2025 conference topics, the innovation and originality of the proposed workshop or tutorial, the feasibility of the event format, and the potential to attract a diverse and engaged audience. Proposals should demonstrate clear objectives, a well-structured program, and the potential to foster rich interactions and meaningful contributions from participants.
For more information about organizing an event, please contact the AIME 2025 chairs.
